movie night: The Secret World of Arrietty (2010)
The Clock family are four-inch-tall people who live anonymously in another family’s residence, borrowing simple items to make their home. Life changes for the Clocks when their daughter, Arrietty, is discovered.
The Secret World of Arrietty is a Studio Ghilbli production which my sis and I love. Sweet, simple stories with a large dose of fantasy like this one about little people that borrow from humans to survive. They have to sneak into homes at night for supplies like sugar cubes and toilet paper and hope to not get caught by the humans. A lovely movie— not quite as enthralling as others I’ve seen by Ghibli but I give it a solid 7/10 stars.
